Some stopovers are visited. Saint Lucia is admired.
Saint Lucia is an island of contrasts, a true jewel nestled between Martinique and Saint Vincent. On one side, the north with Rodney Bay, its lively beaches and elegant marinas. On the other, the wild south where the iconic Pitons rise dramatically above turquoise waters. Between the two lies a generous island where colonial heritage blends with vibrant Creole energy. Every crossing from Martinique, Guadeloupe or Dominica is already a promise: a spectacular sight awaits you on the horizon.

HISTORY
Saint Lucia changed hands 14 times between France and Great Britain, earning the nickname "Helen of the West Indies", in reference to Helen of Troy, the legendary beauty of antiquity. Just as she was fiercely contested between the Greeks and the Trojans, Saint Lucia was fought over with rare intensity between France and Great Britain.
NATURE
The island is home to Sulphur Springs, the only volcano in the world that can literally be explored "by car". Even more unusual, its bubbling mud springs have been renowned for their medicinal benefits since the troops of Louis XVI came there to relieve their chronic pain.
FUN FACT
Saint Lucia holds a prestigious world record. It is the island with the highest number of Nobel Prize winners per capita in the world. With a population of fewer than 200,000 people, it has produced two laureates: Sir Arthur Lewis (Economics) and Derek Walcott (Literature). A ratio of excellence that no major nation has yet surpassed.
