Some destinations are visited. Guadeloupe is felt.
Guadeloupe is shaped like a butterfly resting on the Caribbean Sea. On one side, Grande-Terre and its white-sand beaches, cliffs and gentle charm. On the other, Basse-Terre and its tropical rainforest, volcano and rivers. Between the two wings lies the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, a mangrove classified as a nature reserve, alive and secret. Every crossing from Martinique, Dominica or Saint Lucia is already a promise: something new awaits you on the other shore.

At an altitude of 1,467 m, the volcano offers breathtaking views across the archipelago. A hike that leaves a lasting impression.

Did you know?
HISTORY
Guadeloupe almost did not remain French. Under the Treaty of Paris in 1763, France chose to keep Guadeloupe and give up Canada, which was considered costly to defend and less profitable in the short term. A decision that sparked much debate.
NATURE
Guadeloupean waters are home to five of the world's seven existing sea turtle species. The nesting of leatherback and hawksbill turtles on the archipelago's beaches remains one of the Caribbean's most moving natural spectacles.
SPORT
Guadeloupe is the birthplace of some of the Caribbean's greatest cyclists. Created in 1947, the Tour of Guadeloupe is one of the oldest cycling races in the Americas and is as much a popular celebration as it is a sporting competition.
The crossing is part of the journey
Boarding an FRS EXPRESS Des Îles ferry is already the beginning of switching off. The crossing to Guadeloupe is already time for yourself.
