Some islands are visited.
Dominica is experienced intensely.

Dominica is a preserved sanctuary, anchored in the heart of the Caribbean archipelago. On one side, its majestic volcanic peaks covered by dense jungle and its 365 rivers. On the other, spectacular cliffs and fishing villages where time seems to have stood still. Between the two lies a vibrant Kalinago culture, the last living heritage of the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean. Every crossing from Martinique or Guadeloupe is already a promise: a chance to disconnect in order to reconnect with yourself.

Did you know?

HISTORY

Dominica was the last Caribbean island to be colonised by Europeans due to the fierce resistance of the Kalinago people. Today, the eastern territory of the island officially belongs to them, helping preserve their ancestral traditions.

NATURE

The island is home to the Sisserou (or Imperial Amazon), a parrot found nowhere else in the world. It is so iconic that it proudly appears at the centre of the national flag.

WELL-BEING

Dominica has one of the highest concentrations of centenarians in the world. This remarkable longevity is often attributed to a healthy diet, pure mountain water and a low-stress way of life.

The crossing is part of the journey

Boarding an FRS EXPRESS Des Îles ferry is already the beginning of your Dominican adventure.

The crossing to Roseau is a peaceful escape. From Martinique, Guadeloupe or Saint Lucia, you travel aboard comfortable and fast vessels. A few hours on the Caribbean Sea, enough time to spot dolphins leaping in the boat's wake and watch the island’s lush green peaks appear on the horizon. You arrive at the port of Roseau relaxed and ready for immersion.
